Dr. Pehong Chen
Dr. Pehong Chen is a renowned expert and leader in the field of new media and enterprise business portal technologies. Prior to founding BroadVision in 1993, he was vice president of multimedia technology at Sybase, responsible for the company's interactive initiatives. Earlier, he founded and was president of Gain Technology, a leading supplier of multimedia software tools, where he pioneered multimedia as an enabling technology for a new generation of business applications. Gain was acquired by Sybase in 1992. Having personally started and run two successful software startups, Dr. Chen uses his experience and resources to help others do the same. In 1993, he provided startup capital for Siebel Systems, now a worldwide leader in front office automation software, and served on its board of directors until 1996.
James D. Dixon
James Dixon brings a wealth of executive management and Internet business experience to the BroadVision board. Prior to his retirement from Bank of America in January 2002, Dixon was responsible for Internet business development and the exploration of strategic alliances and joint ventures, and for ensuring that every Bank of America business was aligned and integrated with the growth opportunities represented by electronic commerce. Previously, Dixon was group executive and chief information officer of Bank of America Technology & Operations, responsible for bank information, technology and operating systems, transaction processing, quality, process, redesign and technology planning areas. Before the merger of NationsBank Corporation and BankAmerica Corporation in 1998, Dixon was president of NationsBank Services, Inc. He also served as Chief Financial Officer for Citizens and Southern Bank/Sovran, a predecessor company to NationsBank, from 1985 to 1990.
Bob Lee
Bob Lee was a corporate executive vice president and president of Business Communications Services at Pacific Bell, where he established two new subsidiaries: Pacific Bell Internet Services and Pacific Bell Network Integration. During his 26 year career at Pacific Bell, Lee managed groups in operations, sales and marketing. As executive vice president of Marketing and Sales, from 1987 to 1992, he produced revenue growth rates greater than the overall national telecommunications market. Lee is currently a director for two public companies: Interland, which provides web hosting for the small and medium business market, and Netopia, which manufactures and sells DSL internet routers for consumers and small businesses. He is also on the board of a private company associated with fiber optics components.
Francois Stieger
Francois Stieger leads Intentional Software's international group as CEO of Intentional Software International Sarl. Immediately prior to joining Intentional Software International, Stieger was senior vice president and general manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa for Verisign, the leading provider of critical infrastructure security services for the Internet and telecommunication markets. He held this post since April 2003, and was responsible for Verisign's business throughout that region. Prior to joining Verisign Stieger was a partner of Amadeus Capital, a leading European venture capital firm based in London. In 1996, Stieger established BroadVision's European operations. Under his management through mid 2001, these operations grew to more than 400 employees and US$104 million annual revenues. He was also personally involved in BroadVision's very successful initial public offering on NASDAQ in June 1996, and its public offering on the Neuer Markt in Frankfurt in November 1999. On a larger scale from 1987-1992, as vice president Stieger established and managed operations of Oracle Corporation for southern and central Europe. Stieger is a graduate of the University of Strasbourg's Institute of Technology.
