Spoiled Brats Win Again!

According to an article titled, No credit card, no problem, as online teen shoppers just say: BillMyParents, a new online payment platform targeted towards teens has been developed by Socialwise Inc. The new platform called BillMyParents allows teens to make purchases online without the use a credit card. Instead of asking their parents to borrow their credit card, they can now select the BillMyParents option at the checkout section of the website. This sends a text message or email to the parents to approve the purchase and enter their credit card information into the website to complete the transaction. It also has applications with social networks Facebook and MySpace to allow the teenage consumers to track their purchases along with sharing their recent purchases with their friends.

My opinion of this application is that it will allow teens to consistently irritate their parents into getting what they want, (hence the title of the blog). Teens are the few age groups of consumers who do not have much consideration about price. As a parent, you can always remember when your children constantly ask for something and will not take a ‘no’ for an answer. They will continue to ask until the parent caves and makes the purchase. And now with this application teens can force their parents into making purchases through emails and text messages. The only questions for teens are, how many constant messages will it take until Mom or Dad complete the checkout?
